"It's JOEY time!"
Hard rock and solid!
The first one (Power of Chaos) was disappointing and fortunately the
developer fixed it and released with a dependable Kaiba the Revenge.
Based from that experience, they released the THIRD installment for
Yugi-Oh series, Joey the Passion!
Gameplay:
Still the old style. You can (still) play Single Match, with Joey of
course :P, and there's (still again :P )also Duel Match which enables
you to fight him on best of three rule. This area is not drastically
improved except few but amazing additions, such as: Hundred of new
cards, the game ability to recognize your previous collections
(shhheeeessshh, it's an old feature, ya know?) AND the almighty AI
-Artificial Intelligence- system. Plenty of new cards have been added
and with them you can try your own strategy and surely this will bring
decent pleasure because of almost limitless combination of cards ;D
Graphics:
Huh? Joey is now using 'natural' skin as his choice. Whatever it is,
I don't care about skin anyway... The sprites and the textures are good
as ever, and now Joey has more expression than his ancestor, Yugi and
Kaiba. Glitch? errh no place for glitch because of this game's
simplicity :P
Sound:
Damn, I hate Joey's "I activate my trap card, DARK HOLE".... :P Hmm,
Joey has more variety in his sound collection than Kaiba, some of them
are funny AND some other are annoying xD . Don't forget that the music
background still has three versions, one when you and Joey are on equal
term, one when you're at disadvantage and the least is when Joey is at
disadvantage. Old mode, huh? The sound effects now better, but they must
have prepared this area better next time...
Replayability:
Duh, you must complete your cards collection as usual and of course
you'll need to beat Joey repeatedly and inarguably it's time consuming
and tiring BECAUSE now there are so many new cards! Joey can now uses
tougher decks and strategies due to the variety of the cards, and not
only that, he can predicts our movement as well! Not only that, he
adepts at using Yugi's special deck with ease....
Conclusion:
You've advanced so far by playing Kaiba (if you weren't, you would
not reading this review >_< ) so why don't you try Joey? It's the
last expansion and worth to try, trust me.
