Power Of Chaos Joey The Passion
"It's JOEY time!"
Hard rock and solid!
The first one (Power of Chaos) was disappointing and fortunately the developer fixed it and released with a dependable Kaiba the Revenge. Based from that experience, they released the THIRD installment for Yugi-Oh series, Joey the Passion!
Gameplay:
Still the old style. You can (still) play Single Match, with Joey of course :P, and there's (still again :P )also Duel Match which enables you to fight him on best of three rule. This area is not drastically improved except few but amazing additions, such as: Hundred of new cards, the game ability to recognize your previous collections (shhheeeessshh, it's an old feature, ya know?) AND the almighty AI -Artificial Intelligence- system. Plenty of new cards have been added and with them you can try your own strategy and surely this will bring decent pleasure because of almost limitless combination of cards ;D
Graphics:
Huh? Joey is now using 'natural' skin as his choice. Whatever it is, I don't care about skin anyway... The sprites and the textures are good as ever, and now Joey has more expression than his ancestor, Yugi and Kaiba. Glitch? errh no place for glitch because of this game's simplicity :P
Sound:
Damn, I hate Joey's "I activate my trap card, DARK HOLE".... :P Hmm, Joey has more variety in his sound collection than Kaiba, some of them are funny AND some other are annoying xD . Don't forget that the music background still has three versions, one when you and Joey are on equal term, one when you're at disadvantage and the least is when Joey is at disadvantage. Old mode, huh? The sound effects now better, but they must have prepared this area better next time...
Replayability:
Duh, you must complete your cards collection as usual and of course you'll need to beat Joey repeatedly and inarguably it's time consuming and tiring BECAUSE now there are so many new cards! Joey can now uses tougher decks and strategies due to the variety of the cards, and not only that, he can predicts our movement as well! Not only that, he adepts at using Yugi's special deck with ease....
Conclusion:
You've advanced so far by playing Kaiba (if you weren't, you would not reading this review >_< ) so why don't you try Joey? It's the last expansion and worth to try, trust me.

Arcomage ISO
Arcomage is a computerized card game produced by The 3DO Company. It
originated as a minigame in Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor and
Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer, in which it was used to
gamble for in-game money or to complete a quest to win games in every
tavern. 3DO later released it as a stand-alone game in 2000. In the
stand-alone version a single player can play against a computer opponent
or two players can play via a LAN or TCP/IP connection. Arcomage uses
the fantasy themes of the game in which it is set.
Arcomage was developed by Stickman Games. The game was sold to 3DO.
Arcomage takes the form of a tabletop game, in which there are two players, each with a deck of cards, a "tower" and a "wall", as well as several other variables that determine whether they win or lose, and what cards they can play. As Might and Magic is a single-player game, one would always play against an AI opponent - making the game relatively easy to win.
Players take it in turns to:
Draw the appropriate number of cards to complete their 6-part deck (one or more cards would have been played or discarded during their previous turn).
Either play or discard a card, depending on their options - in some cases discard will be the only option available, as the player might not have the appropriate amount of "gems", "bricks" or "recruits".
If their chosen card allows it, play again and/or choose a card to discard.
Every tavern has its different victory conditions, so players must adapt their styles for different situations. A game could end in one of the following ways:
A player's tower has been reduced to 0
A player's tower has achieved a "height" of X (value depends on Tavern)
A player accumulates X amount of resources (value depends on Tavern)
As well as having a "Tower", "Wall" and Deck of Cards, each player also has:
"Quarry" - controls how many "bricks" are gained each turn
"Bricks" - spent on brick cards
"Magic" - controls how many "gems" are gained each turn
"Gems" - spent on gem cards
"Dungeon" - controls how many "recruits" are gained each turn
"Recruits" - spent on recruit cards
Arcomage employs a wide range of cards, each with their own name, effects and picture. Several cards were added to the original deck in Might and Magic VIII. Examples include:
Faerie (recruit card): 2 damage (to enemy tower/wall); play Again. Cost: 1 recruit.
Portcullis (brick card): +5 wall; +1 dungeon. Cost: 9 bricks.
Sanctuary (gem card): + 10 tower; +5 wall; gain 5 recruits. Cost: 15 gems.
INSTALLTION (IMPORTANT):
Arcomage DOES RUN in Windows 95, 98, XP and 2000. Normally it runs in 95 natively, so you'll have to do the following to get it running on the other systems:
To install the game once the files are burned to the CD:
1) Explore the CD and go to the _setup folder
2) Right click on Setup.exe with the mouse and choose "create shortcut" (I chose to save the shortcut to the desktop)
3) Right click the shortcut on your desktop and select properties, under the compatibility tab select Windows 98/Windows Me
4) Run your shortcut, The installshield will load; follow the instructions.
To run the game under Win XP:
1) Once the installation completes; find Arcomage.exe in the directory you installed to, right click the file, select properties, chooses Win98/Me compatibility mode.
2) Arcomage only runs in Windowed mode in 16-bit colors. So you will need to switch to 16 bit color before running the game.
Right click your desktop and select properties. On the Display Properties Panel that opens, click the Settings Tab, locate Color quality and on the drop down Menu select Medium (16 bit).
3) The Pdf manual is in the install directory. Take a look at it and the readme.txt
Enjoy the game.
Remember to change back to 32-bit color when your done playing the game.
Once you play this game you may never want to quit. Yes, it's that addictive!!! LOVE THIS GAME!
If your OS is higher than XP then I wish you luck on getting this game to run. Manual is also included with this zip.

Marvel First Alliance (full version)
FREEWARE
It took a few hero movies for them to unite against a common threat in The Avengers. So it’s with perfect timing that Brazilian developer Zvitor launches Marvel First Alliance, an indie game created with the popular OpenBor engine. The game is a beat’em up inspired by the likes of Streets of Rage and Double Dragon and features a dream team that will certainly please any Marvel fan. But best of all, it features simultaneous four-player action in one computer!
We begin the story mode, where we fight against malefic organization Hydra, by choosing our hero from the few available, such as Hulk, Captain America or Thor, among others. While these are as good as any, it’s great to find out that others will be unlocked as we defeat the enemy bosses – prepare to meet old favorites such as Wolverine, Storm, Spiderman, Colossus, Iron Man, Nightcrawler, Cyclops and many more. Each character is not just aesthetically different and faithful to the comic sources; they also have different movement types, speed and special attacks. The author mentions that he has no affiliation whatsoever with Marvel or Capcom – it’s a fan game after all – so let’s hope that the game remains available to all fans of good and free beat’em ups.
The long development period is reflected in the final game, with the large number of heroes and the attention to detail in the backgrounds. The classic side-scrolling gameplay throws large quantities of enemies at the player, most of them clones that serve as filler until we reach the final boss in each level. Although gameplay is entertaining and properly frantic, it’s also somewhat repetitive due to the nature of the concept itself. Thankfully, the large and diverse cast offers some variety to the proceedings and there’s always the will to try just another new hero to see how he/she looks and feels.
All in all, Marvel First Alliance is one of the finest examples of the freeware fighting genre, offering dozens of characters that many players are sure to appreciate.
